Bath, luckily no shower!

Tan: Day 2, woke up this morning loving the fact that we brought a power board with us (thanks Bethy for the tip)!

Sorry peeps, no dramas today. We were a little worried looking out the window this morning at the rain and the wind. Thankfully the rain stopped when we were ready to leave the house. It was freakin cold though!

Anyway, our big outing in Bath was amazing. The narrow alleyways, variety of shops and architectural masteries were awe inspiring! My highlight was the Roman Baths - 10 times as old as Australia and an unbelievable experience marvelling at the engineering feats from so long ago.

Lunch was beautiful, at the oldest house in Bath. Built in the early 1400s, Sally Lunn's tea house served up a delectable vegie soup and famous toasted bun. Delicious! Quiet night in with tradition Cornish pasties and some sparkling Rose for mum and I. A
great day all round!

Rich: Just following on from Tan's comments, Sally Lunn's buns were amazing... Wrong turn first off the bat, thanks navigator. Made it to Bath city centre, found the long stay car park and began our day's journey.

Bath is a very beautiful old city, lots of wonderfully built sandstone buildings. Using our European travel book, we made our way around the city, stopping off at the suggested destinations.

The buildings on Royal Crescent were a sight to see. We saw a few more sights, and had a little mid-morning beverage break - alcohol free that is.

We found our way meandering through the streets of Bath, seeing things here and there. Eventually, we made it to the Roman Baths where we lined up, got our tickets and made our way around the impressive, ancient Roman structures with the help of our self guided audio devices.

Lunch time came around really quickly, so we found our way to Sally Lunn's and had a delicious lunch that included a homemade soup, Sally's renowned buns and a nice cup of coffee.

Close to the end of the day we made our way to the Museum of Costume and it was interesting to see the changes of fashion over the ages. We made our way back to the car, and headed back to our apartment with a small detour to the supermarket to pick up a bottle of wine for Tan and Lyn.

For those thinking they were the only ones drinking, you would be wrong. Ray and I were keenly waiting on a nice cold beer that were sitting in the fridge, ready to be cracked open and consumed.

... and the journey has just begun!

Tan: an exciting start to our brilliant trip, dad was scanned several times for explosive residue. He was really stressed after they'd said he may not be able to travel! An OMG moment!

The flights were long and a bit late, but eventually we arrived all safe and sound. Richard took on his role as driver, although his parallel parking in Brighton was a disgrace! He is Asian after all - they were his own words by the way! :)

Brighton was beautiful, but we were late and had no internet which meant we couldn't find Chockywokydoda. We decided to skip Stonehenge for day one, but will go tomorrow after we leave Bath. Loving our accommodation here in Bath and looking forward to a great day of exploring through this beautiful city.

Rich: The A380 was a very nice plane to travel on, although hearing about electrical issues at the start didn't instill any confidences. Arrived in Singapore safely, had some time to stretch our legs and then got the news that there was complete power outage to the A380 cabin. Nice... Anyway, arrived in London, albeit a couple of hours late.

Skycam is cool! Got to see the A380 land from the tail wing. It was very interesting seeing the plane approaching and hitting the runway a little bit diagonally.

Picked up our car, a VW Tiguan, then hopped on the Motorway and we were off to Brighton. Heavy downpour for most of the way. Got a chance to check out the Brighton pier - fish pie and a beer was on the lunch menu. The tartare sauce that the waiter dropped on Lyn's jacket was bad. Sole fish is probably quite tasty, but jacket fish is not!

Made our way to Bath and our accommodation. Gees, did the shower feel good! Drove into town for dinner and found a place called Gascoyne Place. It was a nice little venue where they had live Jazz musicians and I had a beautiful open beef burger with a sip of some Grolsch.
