Sail away, sail away....

Rich: Today we got up a little later than expected and with the fact that Tanya's hat was now lost on a Venetian vaporetto, we decided to take our time and stay on the ship instead of heading back to Venice. It was also raining a bit too, so staying on board was a good option.

It was a sailing day today so after breakfast we wandered around the ship for a little while and then relaxed on the pool deck for a short period of time whilst watching a movie that was playing on the big screen there.

By this time, it was after midday so a cheeky cocktail of the day was in order. It was very relaxing sitting on the sun lounges and sipping our refreshing beverages while waiting for the rest of the passengers to board and the mandatory safety drill.

Everyone had the same idea as us to have lunch after the muster so by the time we got to the only open restaurant it was packed! In Beth's words from our trip to Thailand, "it was a feeding frenzy!"

Time to set sail! We headed to the pool deck to watch the ship leave the port of Venice, but as we got there we could see that the vantage points along the railing were already full. We managed to snag a spot for a little while but it was on the less interesting side of the port. Taking on the female member of the group's suggestion, we headed back to our stateroom and got to enjoy a wonderful view of the city of Venice as we sailed out to sea.

After lunch, it was time for a spot of table tennis. This was pretty interesting as the table was on a slight lean and the windows on the side of the deck were open too, so there was a fair chance the ball could end up in the ocean. Two sets were played and the male of the group had won both, but the second set was a much closer affair.

By this time the casino was well and truly open, so off we went to get some of our Monaco and Lucern money back! Twenty bucks down on a pokie machine we decided to try our luck on one of the roulette tables. This proved to be more fortuitous. With our HUGE $80 win, we left the casino in search of some other ship activities.

Trivia time once again... but no love for Team RaT today. The bar where the trivia is run is kind of like a sports bar, so we stayed on there for a bit and watched the first half of a UEFA Cup match between the Czech Republic and Greece. We also joined the Progressive Trivia later on, but proved that we may need to recruit some more brains.

Dinner time was fantastic again. There was a bit of a French theme on the food choices and we were loving it. We met some funning people sitting in tables of two, but basically next to us. So three groups including us, consisted of Australians, Scots and Irish. It was like a joke! Loved it, so many laughs with these guys.

A really great time exploring the ship today. We are looking forward to arriving in Montenegro tomorrow though. The idea of a combination of land activities and spending time aboard the ship is so fun and one of the highlights of our entire trip. It really does feel like a beach holiday, but of course all the places that we are going to be visiting have amazing historical backgrounds.
