Basking it up in Basque Country!

Our final day in San Sebastiàn was absolutely sensational! The weather was probably the best it's been for the whole trip, sunny and fabulous and people were even out on the beach! People certainly aren't afraid to get themselves out there, that's for sure.

We started off after our usual breakfast and Maccas wifi botting with a walk around the beach area of La Concha. This first trail took us about 50 minutes to get to the base of the Funicular. This is the cable car that takes you to the top of a very steep hill called Mount Igueldo.

Mount Igueldo is the home of a very old fun fair. For those who have been to Coffs Harbour and the Big Banana or Wobby's World, it is about as run down as those joints! None of the rides were in operation and they seemed to be doing a lot of maintenance works. We were really going up there for the magnificent views and could not have picked a better day for this!

After the ride back down we did the return walk and stopped along the way at a cool little outdoor bar and restaurant for a drink and ended up having a great lunch there. We had prime position looking out over the beach. It was still only about 20 degrees, but it felt so much hotter. It was nice to bask in the sun in Basque Country!

Back in the town, we got a cheeky ice-cream and before another glorious walk around the ocean path. We did this walk the previous day, but today was completely different with a big change in the weather. There were so many people out and about and it was enjoyable to be amongst it.

No siesta today! We decided not to waste our day and decided to head down to Constitution Square in Old Town for a drink. All the bars and restaurants there had outdoor chairs which was perfect. We were like moths to a flame! "Hola, uno biere e uno vino rosado por favor!"

The atmosphere in the square was fantastic. It was so nice and relaxing sitting back having a few drinks, enjoying the sun and watching all the goings on. There were kids playing with soccer balls and one very funny little dog was having the best time ever running around and trying to join in.

Tan: Many of you would know that I live to change outfits any chance I have....BUT today I was trumped by a German girl! Her and her friends had obviously been on a shopping spree. She was showing off the clothes then ended up putting an outfit on at the table. Not bad! But then just before they left she changed again! Another outfit! I know I'm competitive, but I have to appreciate her style! Hey German girl: Try getting a gym outfit on in the car whilst driving...a little dangerous! Kids don't try this at home!

We had dinner back at one of our favourite places, which again did not disappoint! After a late dinner it was back to our room to pack for our early start the next morning to Barcelona.
