Celebrity watch!

On our final full day in Paris we set out around 10am and headed out for breakfast on the left bank in the sixth arrondissement. This is Earnest Hemingway country, but no sighting there unfortunately! Hahahaha

We stumbled across a lovely little cafe and had a great breakfast and found out it was called Cafés Richard. Perfect!

First stop: Jardin de Luxembourg. We love a garden, especially in the European grandiose style! Someone may have said that the Statue of Liberty was there!

Tan: Ok so I was incorrect, but the walk there wasn't for nothing, it was absolutely relaxing to sit there and bask in the sun.

We had a bit of a walk ahead of us, as we were off to the Montparnasse Cemetery next to look for Jim Morrison. No good! Someone may have once again given us a bum steer on information!

Tan: Oops! Pays to check your information before venturing out into the world with no 3G available! Hahahaha. There were a couple of positives going to the wrong cemetery though: one - we completed a reconnaissance mission of our train station Gare Montparnasse, to depart for Bordeaux the following day. Two - I saw a market and purchased a top and a skirt! Yay! Winner!

Back on track, we looked on our old school paper map. The male of the group happened to see the Statue of Liberty! Yay, a lucky spot! At least it was located on the left bank too, because later on we found out that Jim Morrison's grave was actually at a cemetery on the right bank. Bummer!

By this time it was lunch. We stopped at a restaurant back closer to the sixth arrondissement and enjoyed an omelette, quiche Lorraine and of course a cheeky beer!

We found the statue after another big walk, but we were impressed with our map reading skills. We really do enjoy just walking around exploring and working things out for ourselves, as it gives us a better understanding of what it would be like to actually live in the city, rather than only soaking it up in the main tourist spots.

We were happy to find the statue - a much smaller version than the one in New York. It was cool to have seen both ladies and gave us a nostalgic look back at our trip to the States two whole years ago!

We were both feeling quite weary by this stage, so we knew it was time for a relaxing cruise along the Seine. After walking another km or two upstream, we finally got to the Eiffel Tower docking area! Yay! We had walked from 10am till 3:30pm with a few stops in there, but we were really feeling it by this point.

The cruise was just what we needed and we had planned to get off at the Notre Dame Cathedral, but we were both falling asleep after only 10 minutes! Bad! We knew at that point that we should get off at the Louvre stop instead and go back to the apartment for a rest.

We knew that we could stalk Johnny Depp again, as he lives on the small island in the middle of the Seine. But alas, no luck! However, our celebrity spotting was not over... The Silver K Gallery man and his wife were on our boat! Well come alive we did!!! It was hilarious. There was no doubt it was him!

In a paparazzi style, we took a few secret shots of him on the boat and even followed him on land for a bit. Well he did get off at our stop and thankfully the big lens was on the SLR. We were absolutely killing ourselves with laughter!

Tan: Richard wanted to redeem his poor paparazzi style from London when we saw Johnny Depp and so he had to run a few times to make use if the best vantage points. It was soooo funny!

Well celebrity or not, this gave us another great memory in Paris and another story to tell. Thanks Silver K man!

We headed back to the apartment and freshened up for a great dinner out in the Marais district. This is the forth arrondissement and is apart of the medieval area near Notre Dame.

After dinner, we headed back down to the river to get back on the hop on hop off boat cruise for another lap. Well after a couple more bum steers on the directions from you know who, we ended up running, then jumping through a garden to make the last boat!

This was a nice way to cap off our last day here. The night cruise gave us a new perspective of the city. To you Paris we say au revoir!
