Whatever may come.

Here in Bordeaux on our second day with no plans turned out to be a particularly relaxing day. Sometimes too many tours can be tiring and so it was a day of general meandering and exploration.

Tan: I love you Rue St Catherine! This is a long street in the heart of old town Bordeaux that goes on for quite a few blocks and is full of clothing shops. Being that we had nothing planned, Rich was completely cool with shopping today. This street was basically an extremely long outdoor mall, which had no cars and was pumping all day with people. A great spot and a totally unexpected find. I of course bought two pairs of shoes and jeans from Zara and Rich bought a top!

We started to walk towards the water area, as we wanted to explore the other direction that we didn't get to the previous day. We did get a little out of whack though and found ourselves at the main train station! This was bizarre because it was much further south than we thought. The streets aren't in grids and we guess we got a little turned around somehow!

After getting back on track, we found the boulevard walk on the water and headed back towards the city centre. We were trying for a late lunch and dinner today to be a little more in line with the French. We sat down back in Rue St Catherine for a great healthy lunch, followed up with some gelato in a park area for a relax after walking for a couple of hours.

We rested back at the hotel in the afternoon and then headed out at 9 for another wonderful dinner at a nearby restaurant that was packed with people. The smoke here is really annoying us though, but you have to put up with it if you want the awesome outdoor seats.

Rich: "I got the black lung daddy!"
