Red, red wine!

Another cheeky sleep in, then it was off to brunch down Rue St Catherine, but no shopping today.

Today we embarked on a half day winery tour in the Medoc region of Bordeaux, which was the closest appellation to the Atlantic Ocean.

We enjoyed a couple of different wineries, learning so much about French viticulture. It was quite interesting, but we were really there for the tasting and not the lesson so much!

Richard: One man in the tour group was also not very interested in the learning experience and at one stage as he walked passed us he mumbled "blah, blah, blah!" He was French too! Clearly he was like us - there for the tasting and not the learning!

Tan: It wasn't like doing a winery tour to Rutherglen with my great Benalla friends! Hahahaha! The ones in Rutherglen comprise of 6 or so wineries and you end up buying way more than you would've normally, due to the persuasion of the wine and great company of course!

Well after the tour, it was too early for dinner, so we headed back to the hotel and opened our bottle of Bordeaux red. We shared some with the hotel owner, as he's been so incredibly helpful and genuinely a great
guy.

Tonight we headed out for a random wander to find dinner options. We actually felt like some noodles or some Asian food and found a brilliant place down a side street off the exclusive shopping area. It was closest to Thai, but you could best describe it as Asian fusion. Mmmmm, c'est magnifique!

This was also the best attempt at ordering our meals and drinks in French to date! Margaret Gula (French teacher extraordinaire) you would have been so proud!
