Final London Day

After a 'no go' at Westminster the previous day, we knew which stop would be our first! We headed straight for the site of Kate and Will's wedding - everything up the centre of the church so familiar. We surprisingly found so many internal chapels and monuments to the dead. The tombs were interesting and extremely intricate!

Next stop Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards. It was quite long, but still interesting. We watched about 20 minutes of it but had to move from the pain in our backs! We don't know how those Beefeaters can do it, standing so still for soooo long...boring arse job! Didn't see Lizzy today. Damn.

We had a beautiful healthy lunch today at Pret a Manger. This is a chain of healthy take away or eat in options, selling sushi, soups, wraps and of course coffee! Our much needed drug!

Since we were located on the western side of the city, it was only natural to go in search of Harrods and have a look around this fancy pants area. We then meandered through Hyde Park, fake feeding the swans and ducks, trying hard to steal a cheeky pat! Unsuccessful!

We headed to the west of Regent Park, where we took a 45 minute canal cruise on a narrow boat to Camden Market. This was was a funky place to go and really busy. Luckily it was only a Thursday!

Tan: Richard managed to get away with a big sigh, as I only bought two tops! (As the great man Jim McGrath once said "women always come back from shopping with at least one top")! Seems to be true! Hahaha!

We freshened up back at the apartment before heading out to the lovely local Italian restaurant (we were over the pub meals). This gave us our first chance to use our language skills. We were actually able to say hello and order our drinks and meals, as well as complimenting the chef and saying goodbye! A good first effort.

Tan: We also said we were Australian, but the old Italian guy was highly suspect about Richard's nationality. Dad was squeamish when he asked if we ate kangaroo. Funny! We certainly haven't been sitting around wasting time, which is what we love!
